What will change in the basic health insurance in 2027?
On Prinsjesdag, the Dutch government announces its plans for basic health insurance in 2027. Below, you can read about some of the changes to basic health insurance and what will stay the same.

Changes are not yet final
The plans for 2027 are not final yet. The plans announced by the Dutch government on Prinsjesdag still need to be discussed by the House of Representatives and the Senate. This means that some of the plans may still change.
We will keep you updated and update this page as soon as new information is available.
Important dates
12 November 2026
On 12 November, we will announce our premium. If you are insured with us, you will receive an email or letter containing information about your new policy. This will include a summary of the changes, outlining all the updates to your health insurance for 2026.
19 November 2026
Your health insurance policy for 2027 will be available in Mijn Aevitae by 19 November. You can then check your new premium, reimbursements and policy conditions.
31 December 2026
If you want to cancel your health insurance, you can do so up to and including 31 December.
31 January 2027
You can change your basic health insurance and supplementary insurance up to and including 31 January. If you have cancelled your policy with your previous health insurer, you can take out a new health insurance policy with us up to and including this date.
