Your Health Insurance in 2026
Every year, there are changes to the basic health insurance. These changes may be introduced by the government or by the health insurer itself. Below you will find more information about all the changes for 2026.
Legal Changes
The government determines which healthcare services are covered under the basic health insurance. On Budget Day, September 16, it was announced what will change in the basic health insurance for 2026. Here’s what you can expect.
Other changes
Contracts with hospitals
From 1 January 2026, for hospitals under the Basisverzekering Natura Select, we will no longer use selective contracting. The contracted hospitals will then apply to all basic health insurances we offer.
Medical aids Natura Select
From 1 January 2026, preferred contracting applies for certain medical aids under the Basisverzekering Natura Select. For 100% reimbursement you have to order mobility aids or aids for nursing & care in bed from the preferred supplier Joerns. If you order these medical aids from another supplier, we will reimburse a maximum of 65% of the average contracted rate.
Non-contracted healthcare
- Basisverzekering Natura Select: In 2026, for healthcare at non-contracted hospitals and other healthcare providers, we reimburse a maximum of 65% of the average contracted rate.
- Basisverzekering Natura: In 2026, for healthcare at non-contracted hospitals and other healthcare providers, we reimburse a maximum of 75% of the average contracted rate.
Changes in the supplementary insurance
The changes for 2026 to the supplementary insurances will be announced in your new policy for 2026. You'll receive this no later than 19 November 2025.
Important dates for your health insurance in 2026
November 12
Then we will announce the premium. Are you insured with us? You will automatically receive your new policy no later than 19 November. It will include all the changes to your health insurance for 2026.
December 31
This is the final date on which you can cancel your current health insurance. If you cancel on or before this day, you still have until January 31 to take out a new health insurance.
January 31
You have the opportunity to change your basic or supplementary insurance, or to take out a new health insurance with us. This is possible until January 31.
